  1. Where it grows

Brute Force is 100% specialty Arabica from Chikmagalur, Karnataka, grown between 1,070 and 1,520 m. It combines two processes, washed and natural, and they are blended for weight rather than for brightness. Then it is roasted dark. Both choices point the same way: toward a body that stays legible in milk.

  2. How we roast it

Depth 80, dark. The roast turns the sweetness to burnt sugar and gives the shot enough body to stay legible in milk. It is roasted for impact rather than nuance, which is the point of it. Cortados and flat whites are where it lands. Roasted to order at our roastery in New Delhi.

  3. How it behaves

Straight, the whiskey edge sits front and centre, with burnt caramel and hazelnut butter behind it. With milk it rounds off. It is not a bright coffee and it is not subtle, so skip it for pour-over and keep it for the espresso machine and the moka pot.

Keep it

Reseal the bag after every use and keep it cool, dry and dark. Not the fridge, not the freezer. Grind just before you brew; whole bean keeps longest.

Pair it

  • A cortado, mid-morning.
  • A flat white after lunch.
  • Dark chocolate.

Ask us

05questions
Is Brute Force good for espresso?

Yes. It is built for it. Depth 80, dark, with burnt caramel and hazelnut butter and enough body to stay legible in milk. Start at 18 g in and 36 g out in 27 to 30 seconds.

Does it work in a moka pot?

Yes. Choose the Mokapot grind, fill the basket level without tamping, keep the flame low and take the pot off the heat as soon as it starts to sputter.

Can I make pour-over with it?

We list it for espresso, moka pot and milk drinks, and that is where it is at its best. For pour-over, choose one of our lighter roasts.

Can I get it ground?

Yes. Choose the grind when you add it to the cart: whole bean, home or commercial espresso, South Indian filter, AeroPress, moka pot, pour-over, Chemex, French press or cold brew. Both 250 g and 1 kg come in every grind. We grind exactly what you choose and cannot un-grind it, so order whole bean if you are unsure.

How fresh will it be?

Roasted to order. Most orders leave us within 1–2 working days, up to 4 in a heavy roast week. Courier delivery usually takes 2–4 working days to the metros and 4–7 to the rest of India.
