Tasting three estates against each other
  1. Vyom 01

Basankhan Estate, Chikmagalur, Karnataka, at 1,470 m. A century-old family farm, now in its fourth generation. Washed S795, roasted medium to Depth 42. The brightest of the three: green apple, muskmelon and golden caramel on filter, red apple, toffee and milk chocolate as espresso.

  2. Soma 02

Gemblary Estate, Shevaroy Hills, Yercaud, Tamil Nadu. The same family has farmed it since 1977. Washed Arabica, roasted medium dark to Depth 64. Rounded and mellow: dried apricot, caramel and cocoa on filter, hazelnut praline and dried fig as espresso.

  3. Agni 03

Udaygiri Estate, Karnataka. Washed Arabica, roasted medium dark to Depth 67. The boldest of the three: orange peel, cocoa and brown sugar on filter, dark chocolate, roasted almond and molasses as espresso. It is at its best in milk.

  4. How to taste them

Brew all three the same way on the same day, with the same dose and the same water. Start with Vyom 01 and finish with Agni 03, so the heavier cup does not flatten the lighter one. Taste each hot and again as it cools. Or take one a day across a week and keep the one that fits your everyday cup.

05questions
What is in The Washed Trilogy?

Vyom 01 from Basankhan Estate in Chikmagalur, Soma 02 from Gemblary Estate in Yercaud and Agni 03 from Udaygiri Estate in Karnataka. All three are washed and 100% Arabica. Vyom is roasted medium, Soma and Agni medium dark.

Which size should I choose?

3 × 100 g is the tasting size: at 15 g a cup, about six filter cups of each coffee. 3 × 250 g is three full bags, for when you already know you like the set.

Can I buy the three coffees separately?

Yes. Vyom 01, Soma 02 and Agni 03 each have their own page, in 250 g. The Trilogy is for tasting them against each other before you commit to a full bag.

Can I choose a different grind for each coffee?

No. You choose one grind for the whole set. If you will brew them different ways, order whole bean. We grind exactly what you pick and cannot un-grind it.

What if The Washed Trilogy is sold out?

It is a limited release. When the page shows sold out there is no date yet, and we do not guess one. Each coffee in it has its own page in the meantime.
