Tasting notes

  • Caramelised honey
  • Almond praline
  • Red apple
  1. The three

Unnaki’s dark honey lots bring the syrupy sweetness. Kaimara brings cocoa body. Melkodige adds the gentler florals and spice that round out the other two. All three are Chikmagalur coffees, a mix of honey and washed lots grown between 1,000 and 1,430 m.

  2. How we roast it

Medium, Depth 48. The roast is there to keep the cup rich without letting it turn heavy. Caramel and almond arrive first and a warmth stays after the cup is down. It was blended for two brewers, espresso and pour-over. Because it is built for balance, it will not show the extremes of a single lot.

Keep it

Seal the bag after every use and keep it at room temperature, away from light and the stove. Not in the fridge. Finish an opened 250 g bag within three to four weeks. Whole bean keeps longest.

Pair it

  • Almond biscotti.
  • A slice of apple cake.

Can I order it today?

Not today. This coffee is between lots. Press Notify me on this page and tell us you want it; we will let you know the day it comes back.

What is in the blend?

Unnaki, Kaimara and Melkodige, all in Chikmagalur. Unnaki’s dark honey lots give the sweetness, Kaimara gives cocoa body, and Melkodige adds florals and spice. It is a mix of honey and washed lots.

Does it work for pour-over?

Yes. Espresso and pour-over are the two brewers it was blended for. For a V60, grind medium and use 15 g to 250 g of water at 93 °C, for about 3 minutes.
