  1. What it is

A stainless steel cup, finished in matte black, with the branding kept small. It sits under the grinder and takes the dose. The tapered lip is the useful part: it keeps loose grounds off the bench while you tip the cup across into the portafilter. That is the whole job.

  2. Why we stock it

Espresso leaves little room for error. Our starting recipe is 18 g in and 36 g out in about 28 seconds, and every number in it depends on the first one. A cup that loses the last gram on the way to the basket changes the recipe before the shot has started. Dose into the cup, and the grams you weighed are the grams that go in.

  3. Using it well

The cup holds the dose and does not weigh it, so zero a scale with the cup on top before you grind. When the grinding stops, tap the cup once against the portafilter to free the last grounds, then spread them level before you tamp. It is made for espresso and it does one job.

How to use it

05steps
  1. Zero the scale

Set the empty cup on a scale and press zero. If you dose by eye, skip this, though every number below is in grams.

  2. Grind into it

Sit the cup under the grinder and grind 18 g into it. That is our starting dose for espresso.

  3. Tip it across

Hold the cup over the portafilter and tip the grounds in. The tapered lip keeps them off the bench.

  4. Level and tamp

Spread the grounds evenly across the basket, then tamp. Dry the cup before it goes back on the bench.

  5. Pull the shot

Aim for 36 g in the cup in about 28 seconds at 93 °C. Stop by weight, not by time.

Keep it

Rinse it after use and dry it before it goes back on the bench.

Pair it

  • A scale under the cup.
  • Espresso rested 7–14 days after roasting.

05questions
What is a dosing cup for?

It sits under the grinder and catches the dose, then you tip the grounds into the portafilter. The tapered lip keeps loose coffee off the bench while you do it.

Do I need a scale with it?

It helps. Our espresso recipe is 18 g in and 36 g out, and a scale under the cup gives you the first number. Without one you are dosing by eye.

Will it work with my grinder?

It sits under the grinder and is made for espresso. Grinders differ in how much room they leave under the chute, so message us on WhatsApp with your model before you order and we will check.

How do I clean it?

Rinse it after use and dry it before it goes back on the bench. A damp cup clumps the next dose.

How long does delivery take?

Packed after you order and dispatched within 1–2 working days. Delivery usually takes 3–6 days across India, depending on where you are, and shipping is free.
